Product description from producer

Dolvit Probiotic contains probiotics (Enterococcus faecium) and prebiotics (mannanoligosaccharides) that support the proper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract in dogs and cats. The components of the drug restore the natural intestinal flora. Use of the drug during and after antibiotic therapy, after transmission of infectious diseases, after deworming, with digestive disorders, with a change in diet, with stress, while traveling. It is also recommended for young, growing animals.

Enterococcus faecium is a type of bacteria of the genus Enterococcus, which is part of the normal microflora of the digestive tract of mammals. Receiving the nutrients they need from the animal's body, enterococci in the course of their vital activity take part in the metabolic processes in the intestines, help digestion, assimilation of vitamins, etc. In addition, they compete with pathogenic bacteria, preventing them from colonizing the intestines. During stress, infectious diseases or taking antibiotics, their population rapidly decreases. Getting into the body of animals from the drug, they begin to multiply actively.

Mannanoligosaccharides and maltodextrins are prebiotics that are not absorbed in the small intestine, but create favorable conditions and stimulate the growth of normal microflora of the large intestine. In this preparation, it is food for Enterococcus faecium bacteria.

Beta-glucans are effective immunomodulatory agents. Large molecules that do not undergo enzymatic fragmentation in the gastrointestinal tract. They are captured by the cells of the intestinal mucosa and are actively transported to the submucosal layer, where they activate macrophages, and through them, lymphocytes, which are responsible for the protection of the endothelium, that is, for local immunity.
