Khmeli-suneli is a dry spicy mixture very famous in Georgia and other peoples of the Caucasus. It is prepared from separately dried and powdered herbs. Very aromatic, tastes quite spicy. The seasoning is used for preparing dishes from meat, poultry, fish, as well as for broths, soups and gravies. Of course, such famous national Caucasian dishes as kharcho or satsivi cannot be served without “khmeli-suneli”. This spicy mixture is also the basis of another, no less beloved by the highlanders, seasoning - adjika. In other world cuisines, “khmeli-suneli” are usually added to meat dishes (lamb, pork, beef), poultry and game, seafood, vegetables, fish and rice - from appetizers and soups to pilaf, stew and savory pastries .
