Grana Padano is often compared to Parmesan. These cheeses are very similar. The difference is that Parmesan is produced only in the Emilia-Romagna region, while Grana Padano is made in several regions of Italy: Venice, Trentino, Piedmont, Lombardy. Another difference between these cheeses is in the raw materials: for Parmesan they take the milk of cows that eat only grass and hay. For Grana Padano, the requirements are not so strict. But this does not mean that grana padano is worse than parmesan. This is a harmonious cheese, not too salty, not too soft, piquant and has a slight nutty flavor. The cheese matures for up to 2 years. A wheel of cheese weighs from 24 to 40 kg. Grana Padano is served with red wine or used grated in the same way as Parmesan.
